Industry Commissions & Advisory Council

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) team under the Office of Student Pathways (OSP) supports nearly 300 programs within NYC public high schools located across all five boroughs—training over 65,000 students annually. To ensure schools are aligning their programs to labor market demand and industry trends, the CTE Team relies on the guidance of industry, postsecondary and workforce development professionals who contribute their time and resources in support of schools and students.

The Commissions serve CTE Programs by:

  • Providing a space and platform for industry professionals, businesses and college and training partners to connect with teachers and staff at CTE schools
  • Articulating industry trends to inform and shape existing and new CTE programs
  • Supporting talent development in high growth sectors
  • Reviewing and validating curriculum and credentials
  • Connecting schools to resources and training opportunities
