Seven Staten Island Schools Showcase CTE Options at CareerCon 2015 on February 2

Monday, February 2, 2015 - 7:45am

A borough-wide effort by Staten Island’s CTE educators on November 3 will bring together government leaders; local businesses vocational; secondary or post-secondary educational institutions; middle schools who want to better advise students about high school; and organizations interested in meeting the future employees, employers, entrepreneurs and leaders of Staten Island.

The CareerCon 2015 event combines professional sessions for educators, Career Pathways Presentations for students, work-based learning discussions for current and prospective industry partners and a CTE Showcase for the general public. Seven high schools are highlighting their CTE programs:

Curtis High School
Ralph R. McKee CTE High School
New Dorp High School
Port Richmond High School
Staten Island Technical High School
Tottenville High School
Susan E. Wagner High School

Each of the schools will have an opportunity to introduce their unique CTE educational programs. There are vital partnerships that can be fostered between these high schools and businesses as well as schools interested in implementing their own CTE programs.
