Become a CTE Teacher

If you're interested in becoming a CTE teacher you can find the requirements for a specific subject area and certification title by searching in the New York State Education Department certification requirements database. CTE subject areas and certification titles are listed below.

Applicants with industry experience are welcomed and encouraged to learn more on how to obtain teacher certification through the Transitional A certification pathway options through the CTE Candidate Hiring Handbook. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in health occupations, technical subjects, and graphic, printing, and visual communications.
