With over 400 high schools in New York City, parents rely on guidance counselors to help make informed decisions about the best options for their child.

In the 21st century, career and technical education (CTE) in NYC provides rigorous academic and technical instruction to over 120,000 students each year, and boasts a higher graduation rate than traditional high schools. There are over 300 CTE programs in high schools located throughout all five boroughs, with students learning about careers across nine different industries including information technology (software and hardware), engineering, transportation (automotive and aviation), health, construction, culinary, media (advertising, marketing, film), business/finance, agriculture, and the social sciences.

Help your students explore what CTE options may be right for them.
